Meghan Schiereck (but who sometimes goes by the name Penny Schiereck), is a photojournalist who specializes in fine art, street photography and landscape photography. Currently, she studies journalism at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, concentrating in print and online media and minoring in technical professional communications. She is on the Campus Media Advisory board as the Student Government Representative.
Meghan Schiereck is the Multimedia Editor at The Slate, SU’s student-run newspaper, a two-time American Scholastic Press Association First Place with Special Merit winning publication. Her photos for The Slate won an Honorable Mention in the 2017 Keystone Press Awards, and two Honorable Mentions, for Feature Photo and Photo Story, in the 2018 Keystone Press Awards. Meghan is an active member of The Slate, and her participation earned her the 2018 and 2019 Slater of the Year.
Meghan Schiereck runs a freelance art and photography business. Meghan has done everything from page design to art portfolios to weddings to family portraits to album covers. Meghan Schiereck is a proud New Jerseyan (despite going to university in Pennsylvania, she grew up in South Jersey). Some of some of her passions and favorite pastimes are reading the news, britpop music, digital painting, scrolling through Instagram, wandering through town and looking for new places to shoot. She is an advocate and educator for Tourette Syndrome Awareness.
